Music & Liturgy
Sing to God, each other, and the world.
We sing together.
The “music ministry” belongs to all covenanted members. God has not called some in the church to simply play music on Sundays. Rather, he has commanded the church to sing together. All of us are responsible to this command as we gather together.
The phrase we use to describe this mentality is congregational singing. This offers a clear distinctive of how we sing at Heights Church. In congregational singing, we love and encourage one another by proclaiming a unified confession.
Every Sunday has a point.
We view gathering together on Sunday as the pinnacle of what we do together as a church in making Jesus famous. We do other important things too, but the Sunday gathering is central to our church life.
What happens in our Sunday corporate gathering is rooted in God’s Word:
- Sing the Word: Corporate singing.
- Read the Word: Corporate reading and sermon text reading.
- Pray the Word: Prayer of confession and prayer for missions.
- Hear the Word: Sermon and sermon text reading.
- See the Word: Communion and baptism.
Original lyrics and/or arrangements to stir our church and others toward the fame of Jesus.
